Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. ~Proverbs 3:13-15

The Quicksand of Self-pity

Avoid the quicksand of self-pity. Self-pity is like taking a bath in mud; it changes nothing. Plant your feet on solid ground and move forward.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. ... James 1:2-5 ESV

  1. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him"

How true this rings for what is going on in my life right now -- being left without understanding and fear of where to go from here! Yet, knowing that if I seek God that He will give me the wisdom to find my path is a huge encouragement. God never leaves us high and dry!
