<span style="font-size: large;">“If the devil comes to you and you get into an argument with him, he will beat you; for he is a very ancient lawyer, and he has been at the business for so many ages that you cannot match him. Send him to your Advocate! Refer him to the Wonderful, the Counselor! Always shelter beneath this fact: ‘My times are in His hands. I have left the whole business to Another, and I cannot dishonor Him by meddling.’ Satan knows the Christ too well to go to Him—he knows the taste of His broadsword, of, ‘It is written’ (Mat 4:4, 7, 10). He will not contest with Jesus if we leave Him to plead the causes of our soul!”–Charles Spurgeon, Sermon 2205 </span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-large;">What is thy petition, and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? Esther 7:</span><span style="font-size: x-large;">2.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-large;">AMID the sensual conceptions of marriage that obtained in this heathen empire there </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">was doubtless a consciousness in the king's breast of the essential unity between himself and </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">his beautiful queen. She was his better self, and in her pleading he heard the voice of his </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">own higher nature. To nothing less than this could he have made so far-reaching a promise. </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">It was not so much Ahasuerus pledging himself to Esther, as Ahasuerus, the king, awakening </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">to the appeal of a nobler Ahasuerus, for the most part buried. Such is the power of a pure </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">and noble character awakening a nobler life. Will you try by your unselfishness and purity </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">to awaken those around you to see and follow an ideal, which shall presently assume the </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">form of the living Christ?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7buzE64nWbilEdafmsF_hujFH9SkNqCeTgBctV32m8KOojir9lv_hh7fEQZYnDwUuVzoQBJ6xLF18j21HErRvKop9wHBkvPIynRw_sifF-QqRUrVt0ARF7BDiw2CTXBeAIc8aLhtW77M/s1600/Ask_Receive.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7buzE64nWbilEdafmsF_hujFH9SkNqCeTgBctV32m8KOojir9lv_hh7fEQZYnDwUuVzoQBJ6xLF18j21HErRvKop9wHBkvPIynRw_sifF-QqRUrVt0ARF7BDiw2CTXBeAIc8aLhtW77M/s1600/Ask_Receive.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-large;">In these words of the king we are reminded that God is willing to do beyond what we </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">ask or think. Not to the half of his kingdom, but to the whole extent of it, has God pledged </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">Himself, "according to the power that worketh in us." But our prayer must be in the name, </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">or nature, of Christ; that is, the nature of Christ must pray in us, and God must recognize </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">Himself come back through the circle of our intercession to Himself. The Spirit must make </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">intercession in us, according to the will of God. When the unselfish, lovely, and holy nature </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">of Jesus pleads in us by the Holy Ghost, there is nothing that God will not do for us, even </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">to the whole of his kingdom.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-large;">"If ye abide in Me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">done unto you."</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-large;">"Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name He will give it you."</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;"><br />The mind is the door by which Satan and this world can entice you to sin. The mind is a marvelous computer; but like any computer, it will only produce what you put in it. Put garbage in and it will kick out garbage. You must master it and not allow it to wander into places it should not enter. Avoid books, movies, music, and anything that might give a foothold to devil to work though your mind "and take every thought captive to obey Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV). Don't lose the battle for your mind.</span><br />

There is a value to failure. People who end up accomplishing much often experience failures. They make mistakes and have setbacks. But! They always fall foreword. Thomas Edison said this about President Wilson, "They say President Wilson has blundered. Perhaps he has, but I notice he usually blunders forward." <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSYLHmP4oYNvFwVEs3zFrbzpKmV4Y-NNxNehyphenhyphenI4HVx_RzjizQs4Mjt9FTbrNHXaXLaRXv8OZDbn590nNfzT6zCLkimxhs9rGvi2IOv1FfJ81AStSGN0SesPtH2Pk7tQzklBdoQyw7FXf0/s1600/dinosaur-1564323_640.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="416" data-original-width="640" height="208" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSYLHmP4oYNvFwVEs3zFrbzpKmV4Y-NNxNehyphenhyphenI4HVx_RzjizQs4Mjt9FTbrNHXaXLaRXv8OZDbn590nNfzT6zCLkimxhs9rGvi2IOv1FfJ81AStSGN0SesPtH2Pk7tQzklBdoQyw7FXf0/s320/dinosaur-1564323_640.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">You can be riding down life’s victory road when out of nowhere you run into a pothole of problems. Sound familiar? Almost every day we are confronted with some troublesome trials that test our faith. Some are minor, others major. Some rock our boat while others send us into a death spin. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">So how do we get through these problems quickly and without shaking our faith or tarnishing our testimony? The following three truths can help smooth those patches of life’s rough roads. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0jqi2_bBRmk_B6sbaDCO4uSD4smM_0LyP7skIHFvU3fAVMsc4t1UOlbZKmLXJMs-HJva1b7zZjodNHnpqpAOvBjwyynaD1T2FYQDPHBLEhxm5OwNUvvvR2tpmPBFSDUzfouRQcFK2POU/s1600/god-is-in-control.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="213" data-original-width="320" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0jqi2_bBRmk_B6sbaDCO4uSD4smM_0LyP7skIHFvU3fAVMsc4t1UOlbZKmLXJMs-HJva1b7zZjodNHnpqpAOvBjwyynaD1T2FYQDPHBLEhxm5OwNUvvvR2tpmPBFSDUzfouRQcFK2POU/s200/god-is-in-control.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;"><b>1. God is in Control</b></span><br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">The lot is cast into the lap,</span><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">But its every decision is from the Lord</span><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;"> Proverbs 16:33 (NKJV)</span></blockquote>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">What appears to be chance or bad luck is not! When you acknowledge that God has sovereign rule over all human affairs, then the ability to see God’s hand working is much easier. The twist and turns that life often takes can cause us to doubt and fear but when you realize nothing is out of control, God is still in charge then the doubts and fears vanish. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2lRg6vTmpWOEy80s8YdtePQcGumF1JKwkyzYcfgIQfUg6r1DRLRfdi6Ly_WpFyIe_iWjUhrenvSCA4O8-JmqDsTdndivVQ2pTOCjpzhD-3w_H6Xxt3n216mp1D1fegkRWNvwuSVogDNM/s1600/never-stops-loving.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="168" data-original-width="320" height="105" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2lRg6vTmpWOEy80s8YdtePQcGumF1JKwkyzYcfgIQfUg6r1DRLRfdi6Ly_WpFyIe_iWjUhrenvSCA4O8-JmqDsTdndivVQ2pTOCjpzhD-3w_H6Xxt3n216mp1D1fegkRWNvwuSVogDNM/s200/never-stops-loving.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;"><b>2. God Never Stops Loving.</b> </span><br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:</span><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;</span><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. </span><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV)</span></blockquote>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">God’s love is both everlasting and unconditional. His love is not far away but close at hand. </span><br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">“Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord,</span><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">“And not a God afar off? Jeremiah 23:23 (NKJV)</span></blockquote>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">During troubled times rest and be assured that God continues to love you and has not departed from you. You are not alone.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;"><b>3. God Understands</b></span><br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15 (NKJV)</span></blockquote>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgudyVfpB9tjjAKuDCuP59Lb_e3JF9xJGqYY8dkx0HfzROgU3h_iO6TLmHn0uucAruoHj12bjTblUX_0elCqK5a4R-EPzToACYsRLxpP4uXvEFg4LahLt6rjBL2N5iHuFoARiAPH80WS8M/s1600/god-understands.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="213" data-original-width="320" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgudyVfpB9tjjAKuDCuP59Lb_e3JF9xJGqYY8dkx0HfzROgU3h_iO6TLmHn0uucAruoHj12bjTblUX_0elCqK5a4R-EPzToACYsRLxpP4uXvEFg4LahLt6rjBL2N5iHuFoARiAPH80WS8M/s200/god-understands.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-large;">Remember God can identify with your problem. Since Jesus, God the Son, walked on earth as both man and God and experienced life, you can find comfort in the fact you are not facing this trial or these trials alone. Find strength and wisdom from your Lord knowing that he understands sorrow, hunger, disappointment, dread, and all of your feelings – and that He cares! So “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7 NKJV) walk tall with the assurance that you will overcome this trial.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">In the New Testament there are three words used which embrace trouble. These are </span><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">tribulation, suffering and affliction. Each words differs somewhat, and yet each of them m</span><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">ean trouble of some kind. Our Lord put His disciples on notice that they might </span><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">expect tribulation in this life, teaching them that tribulation belonged to this world, and </span><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">they could not hope to escape it; that they would not go through this life on flowery </span><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">beds of ease. How hard it is to learn this lesson! Yet, we have this promise: “In the world ye shall have </span><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” There is the encouragement. </span><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">As He had overcome the world and its tribulations, so might they do the same. <span style="font-size: x-large;">THERE was stern stuff in this old Jew. He was not going to prostrate himself before one so haughty and so depraved as Haman, albeit that he was the king's favourite. To be the only one in a city office that does not laugh at the questionable story; to stand alone on shipboard against the gambling mania; to refuse to countenance cleverness which is divorced from cleanness, and genius which is apart from goodness — this is to do as Mordecai did in the gate of the king's palace.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: x-large;">Only God can give this power, since of ourselves we are as reeds shaken by the wind. Sooner might a single ear of wheat resist the breeze that bends all its companions in the same direction, than we stand alone, whilst all our associates bow, unless God Himself enable as. But God is prepared to enable us. Listen: "I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." But the mistake we are so apt to make is to brace ourselves up by resolution and firm determination, in anticipation of some impending struggle. To do this is to fail. Live in Christ, look up into his face, derive from Him strength for the moment and at the moment; and often wrap about thee that exceeding great and precious promise, "I will make him to become a pillar in the temple of my God; and he shall go no more out; and I will write on him the name of my God." Oh to stand pillar-like amid men, bearing up the temple arch of truth, and inscribed with God's name, whilst the crowds go and come on the pavement beneath!</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">“A life without a purpose is a languid, drifting thing. Every day we ought to renew our purpose, saying to ourselves: This day let us make a sound beginning, for what we have hitherto done is nought.” -Thomas A` Kempis</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Moses was comfortable tending sheep for his father-in-law until he met the bush that burned yet was not consumed. For forty years after fleeing Egypt, Moses’ life was on hold – without clarity purpose or direction. Then God spoke from the bush and Moses’ life would never be the same. He had purpose and direction.</span><br />

He needed his zeal redirected. When the Lord spoke to him on the road to Damascus, Saul became the Apostle Paul with a new and righteous purpose. His missionary journeys would change the world. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">Like Moses, many people are comfortably sailing through life with no driving purpose or have lost focus on their divine calling. Others, like Saul, are spending their energy and life pursuing the wrong purpose and never seeing their greater calling. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">If you find yourself in one of these schools, then look to the Lord Jesus for he has a noble purpose for your life. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord…Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. (2Timothy 1:8a, 9) </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)</span><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-large;">And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles (Luke 6:12-13).</span><br />

Our Lord took time to pray before He made a momentous choice. We in our own degree have similar choices to make, both in our individual and corporate life. We have to choose our careers. We have to make choice of turnings in the ever-winding way. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: x-large;">And so, if we are truly wise, we shall surely pray. To cease to pray is to build up the windows of the soul, to close the ventilators, to shut out air and light, to immure the soul in an atmosphere devoid of inspiration. And yet it is possible so to pray that the spirit of prayer shall determine all our purposes, and all our purposes shall be fit to steal into our prayers. A friend said of Dr. Westcott that “he read and worked in the very mind in which he prayed, and his prayer was of singular intensity.” That is a great and gracious attainment, and I think we can all share the wonderful triumph which mingles prayerful aspiration with common toil. -John Henry </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">Jowett,</span><span style="font-size: x-large;"> </span><span style="font-size: x-large;"><i>Things That Matter Most: Devotional Papers</i></span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-large;"><i>Apart from me ye can do nothing.</i>—What a plea and what a call every moment to abide </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">in Christ! We have only to go back to the vine to see how true it is. Look again at that little </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">branch, utterly helpless and fruitless except as it receives sap from the vine, and learn that </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">the full conviction of not being able to do anything apart from Christ is just what you need </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">to teach you to abide in your heavenly Vine. <span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">One commodity of which we have a limit supply is time. There are a number of Bible verses admonishing us to use our time wisely; but most of us let what time we have here on earth slip away from us. We allow time thieves to steal our time away. We have identified eight of those time-thieves below with the hope that we can help you guard again these bandits. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” James 4:13-15 NKJV</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><i><b>Time Thieves</b></i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><b>1.<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Trying to change the past</b></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyAsAh106DTIJ0OcH1CPI87WZyCF4NRyA6BhDQkgnrWzcpOaSmazJAlIPBqj16RIsctKHxlmr2A5keyBV-Rsx_V79htq6mKRot7TL1AU8dh5HvDQd2jVSnskAQhJd6q-DC0fJcV5-0lgE/s1600/past.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="386" data-original-width="640" height="120" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyAsAh106DTIJ0OcH1CPI87WZyCF4NRyA6BhDQkgnrWzcpOaSmazJAlIPBqj16RIsctKHxlmr2A5keyBV-Rsx_V79htq6mKRot7TL1AU8dh5HvDQd2jVSnskAQhJd6q-DC0fJcV5-0lgE/s200/past.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Trying to undo what is already done is a bandit that eats lots of our time and can rob us of our future. You cannot change the past. If you have wronged someone or sinned against God, then seek forgiveness and move on. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Philippians 3:13-15 (NKJV)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Sometimes the affairs of the present day and/or the future are so overwhelming that we seek to just blank-out. We fill our day with unproductive activities like watching television or reading novels so that we do not need to face the daily obligations of responsibilities. Therefore, we waste time. For some this can be one of the signs of serious depression; but for most of us, it is a sign of a need to refocus on the hope and blessings that are awaiting us in the adventure of life. Don’t let the thief of the present steal your valuable time.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"> Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><b>3.<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Dreaming away the future</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Everyone knows a dreamer that is always dreaming big dreams but never acts on them. Perhaps, we all have a little bit of that dreamer in ourselves. Of course, there is always an excuse for never initiating the dream. Hours or even days are lost in dreaming. A person can dream their future away; and time lost in fantasizing can never be found.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Proverbs 22:13 (NKJV)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">The lazy man says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be slain in the streets!”</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><b>4.<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Worrying</b> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Worry is perhaps the greatest cat burglar of all time. Anxiety sneaks into the mind and causes us to spend needless time worrying about things that never come to pass. Some say that ninety percent of what we worry over never amounts to anything. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Matthew 6:25-36 (NKJV)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><b>5.<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Procrastination</b></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvMKGsHdCBQtm1ksM86qWaX11AseiuszYZQPqHGz8Zfk2aQz1gxuPEjUSnrci-yLs7FQlFs-2rPKZ2AoKosVsOEVwPVgAnefFkEJ3sMR8ednBLqbpexs7DDpEX7FPwlaiD-IErAHlSbZA/s1600/thief-1562699_640.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="426" data-original-width="640" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvMKGsHdCBQtm1ksM86qWaX11AseiuszYZQPqHGz8Zfk2aQz1gxuPEjUSnrci-yLs7FQlFs-2rPKZ2AoKosVsOEVwPVgAnefFkEJ3sMR8ednBLqbpexs7DDpEX7FPwlaiD-IErAHlSbZA/s200/thief-1562699_640.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Generally speaking, we tend to put those things off that we do not like doing or are fearful of doing. Here is where procrastination becomes a time thief. First, we spend more time finding excuses for not doing it than if we had just done it! Plus! What is often the case; the job we have put off becomes more difficult and takes more of our time and money to remedy. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Ecclesiastes 11:-4 (NKJV)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><b>6.<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Punishing Yourself</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Have you noticed how much time people spend on beating themselves up for a mistake? It’s often more time than it takes to correct the mistake. Take this example: John installed a storm door only to discover he had it swinging the wrong directions. John was so upset over his error that he spent the next three hours sulking in angry. Three hours of wasted time and energy. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">This time crook (Punishing Yourself) delights in stealing time from Christians. Many Christians have wasted a ton of time by being reluctant to serve God because of past sins. Don’t lose another moment of time. If you have sought forgiveness, then you have found forgiveness. Move on!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">1 John 1:9 (NKJV)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.</span><br />
<b><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">7.<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Pleasing Others and/or Seeking Approval/Praise from Others</span></b><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Living your life for others can be very exhausting and time consuming. While it is natural to want to do nice things for people you love, pleasing others can become compulsive. If you self-worth is based on the approval of others, there is a good chance most of your time will be spent unproductively.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Galatians 1:10 (ESV)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.</span><br />
<b><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">8.<span style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Never Leaving the Starting Gate</span></b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">A race horse will never win a race if it doesn’t leave the gate. The best way to make the best of the time the Lord has given you is to live it! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-large;">The need to pray for other Christians, especial in the area of humility and pride, is expressed by Charles Spurgeon in one of his sermons.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtT84OiELJ7TxgsbKNnH4sxXCHWsVd8_00Gz8Gu19e04PEf-09NsaJOn6iM54wnDs7RX6ecEi2uDFl9FoAvnLo1vRpshYyRI7bVCcncB_iqnZtxhbS8tZNIuuD6bUDC7VNTF0-Dkw3YvQ/s1600/praying_man.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaEyCm1MYtuGDEujVxAiJle_oQRB7YAB75Mnr9KAU-QmbgGNfPjly1BT-Ufv0TvHK7zh1w71yqw3apspR0HVvAgt16-8Ot9qEqHM3ZKVZHEmaxBTREHicNnn4nVwriye_FC8e75c8wGBk/s1600/blur-1867402_640+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="427" data-original-width="640" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaEyCm1MYtuGDEujVxAiJle_oQRB7YAB75Mnr9KAU-QmbgGNfPjly1BT-Ufv0TvHK7zh1w71yqw3apspR0HVvAgt16-8Ot9qEqHM3ZKVZHEmaxBTREHicNnn4nVwriye_FC8e75c8wGBk/s320/blur-1867402_640+%25281%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: x-large;">“We often pray for Christians in adversity, and it is right that we should do so; but it is even more necessary to pray for Christians in prosperity, for they run the risk of gradually becoming soft, like Hannibal’s soldiers destroyed by Capuan holidays, who lost their valor in their luxury. Many a man who was an out-and-out Christian when he was lower down in life has, when prosperous, become much too great a gentleman to associate with those who were his honored Brothers and Sisters before.”–1891, Sermon 2217 from Spurgeon's Gems</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br />
Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain. Proverbs 30:8-9</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Did you know that you can present your faith and Bible beliefs in an unbiblical manner even if what you believe is right and true? Many Christians mistakenly believe that being bold in presenting the gospel gives them the right to be a Bible bully. They bash other faiths and other Christian denominations without concern for the people they are trying to reach. Using a no-tolerance and in-your-face approach, they bully their beliefs on their subjects like a school kid robbing his schoolmates of their lunch money -- and their dignity. What is absent is the love of Jesus and the respect others deserve and require. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">When sharing your faith with others, remember that you must earn the right to be heard. Instead of playing demolish-derby with their faith, try being respectful and listen. By doing so, you will earn the right to present the truth; and when you do, do so in a loving and kind manner. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;"></span><br />
