Consider for a moment the account at Kadesh when Moses sent the twelve spies in Canaan (Numbers 13,14). If you recall, ten of the twelve returned with a good and bad report. They claimed the land was everything God had promised but that the inhabitants were mighty -- too mighty to be conquered by Israel even if the Almighty God was their redeemer.
But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.” (Numbers 14:6-9)The ten were convinced that Joshua and Caleb were not living in the "real world." In reality, Joshua and Caleb were living in the "real Word"! They were trusting the promises of a promise-keeping God.
The world today views the believer that lives their life according to the Word of God as being out of touch with reality; when in truth, they are in touch with reality.
So if you find people regarding you a little Out-of-this-world, cheer up. You are among a noble group including Joshua and Caleb.
