The Final Laps

Most races are won in final laps. The last quarter-mile of a mile race will determine who wins. It's not how you start life but how you finish it. Many have had a great beginning only to have a poor showing at the end, while others have great disadvantages and go on to win the race.

Determine to run the last quarter-mile as a winner. The Apostle Paul said, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." (2 Timothy 4:7-8) Share

Move Forward!

Put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward. Life should never be at a standstill. Keep learning, keep improving, and keep moving! Moving forward is the only way to enjoy the journey. Trying to live yesterday over is a waste of energy.

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Php 3:14)

The Second Mile

Any person that has achieved success in any area of life will tell you that it is the second mile that makes the difference. For a race horse, it’s the last turn that will make a difference of winning and losing. For a retail business man, it’s the last quarter. For the Apostle John, it was the last days of his long life when he saw the Revelation of Jesus. It’s that second mile, that last stretch, those finial days, that make a difference. JB

Whatever you calling is; the difference is going to be made in the second effort, the second mile.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. - Isaiah 40:31

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. - Galatians 6:9
