Are the Hassles of Life Dragging You Down?

Don't let everyday affairs drag you down. 

Sometimes the little hassles of life become exaggerated and exasperating.  They can become overwhelming. 

Take these everyday challenges in stride and overcome one at a time. Don't allow life's little conflicts dictate your attitude.  Seek the Lord even for the small hassles.

My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:2

SonShine

Let the SONshine! You don't need a sunny day or a pocket full of money to have joy. Weather changes and money flies away but the Son of God remains steadfast and faithful. When you allow Jesus to be the source of you attitude and outlook, then the world, your circumstances, and your life take a new light -- so let the SONshine!

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Roman 15:13

Walk On the Positive Side

Walk on the positive side of the road. Negativity can drag you down and stunt your possibilities. Hang with those that are big on encouraging and be numbered among those that inspire and build up. You will find that if you are a motivator that pulls the best out of others that there will be a host of others willing to lift you up. Determine to walk on the positive side of the road and enjoy the fruits of doing so.

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Isaiah 41:13

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, Romans 15:5 (ESV)

Appearances Do Matter

Appearances do matter. Make sure your appearance reflects the person you really want others to see. Take care to insure that the Spirit of Christ is reflected not only in dress but also in attitude. You wear your attitude as much as your clothing. Both need to be pleasing to God.


Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God (1Co 10:31).

Choose to Change

In his book, The Noticer: Sometimes, all a person needs is a little perspective. , Andy Andrews hit the nail on the head with this simple but true statement:

“Most people think it takes a long time to change. It doesn’t. Change is immediate! Instantaneous! It may take a long time to decide to change…but change happens in a heartbeat!

The single most important step to changing one's life is found in the choosing to change. When anyone chooses in their heart to be different, then, and only then, can the Spirit work and God's grace is fully available.

Roll with the Punches!

Roll with the punches. Everyone on this journey we call life will find that life can throw some very hard punches. The secret to living a joyfully and successfully life is to learn to simply roll with punches. You may be knocked down but you are not knocked out. Absorb the difficulty with the attitude that tomorrow is a new day – a new opportunity. Follow @pastorbarr

Build A Powerful Testimony

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4 ESV

How we meet and face the tests of life -- the troubles and trails of living for Jesus, will become the testimony tool of either the devil or the Lord. If we follow the steps of many Christian and put on the clothing of poor me, the test becomes a tool of the devil. However, if we face the trouble with the attitude that the Lord will see us through, the trail becomes a powerful testimony tool for the Holy Spirit. 

Face your troubles with the confidence that God will see you through them and equip the Spirit with powerful testimonies!

Afflictions are light when compared with what we really deserve. They are light when compared with the sufferings of the Lord Jesus. But perhaps their real lightness is best seen by comparing them with the weight of glory which is awaiting us. —Arthur W. Pink

Somewhere But Not Here!

Somewhere today rain is falling, the night still rules, and joy is missing. However, that somewhere doesn't have to be here! Choose not to let doom-and-gloom live in your heart and rule your attitude.

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24

The Heart of Worship

True worship begins with the heart. If the heart is not right -- if Jesus is not present and sitting on your heart's throne, then it is impossible to worship God in truth and spirit (John 4:23-24). A self-examination of the heart and prayerful attitude will help develop true worship.

Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. (Psalm 26:2)

Altitude / Attitude

Is your altitude right? No, this isn’t a mistaken word for attitude although it has everything to do with your attitude. If your head and heart are living in the abyss, your attitude is going to show it. Since a believers’ citizenship is in heaven, his or her thoughts and mindset should be there also. So, I ask once again, “Is your altitude right?”

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ -Philippians 3:20 (NIV)

Cheer Someone to Success!

Be known as an encourager and not a criticizer. The old proverb “You will catch more flies with honey than you will with vinegar” is true. People respect and listen to those that encourage them. If you are heavy on encouragement, you will be heard.

Being an encourager is easy if you learn to look for the good in others rather than the faults. This tends to be difficult if you have allowed the world to make you cynical. Nevertheless, you can usually find some good traits in most people that you can use to encourage.

Today's Prayer: Lord allow me to be an encouragement to those I will encounter this day.

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. Romans 14:19
