Don't Lose Your Mind!*

Are you losing your mind?

Take control of your thoughts. If you don't, the devil will.

The mind is the door by which Satan and this world can entice you to sin. The mind is a marvelous computer; but like any computer, it will only produce what you put in it. Put garbage in and it will kick out garbage. You must master it and not allow it to wander into places it should not enter. Avoid books, movies, music, and anything that might give a foothold to devil to work though your mind "and take every thought captive to obey Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV). Don't lose the battle for your mind.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 ESV

Heart and Mind

And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever”. 1 Chronicles 28:9 ESV

Total service to the Lord always includes both the heart and mind.  It must be with the whole heart and a willing mind. Both must serve with holy motives for the Lord knows the heart and the mind.

Solomon was given good instructions from David his father, instructions that he followed at first but abandoned in his senior years.  A warning to all but especially to those in their senior years!

AGAIN! Beware of stinking thinking!

Beware of Stinking Thinking.
Beware of stinking thinking! Share

Satan wants your mind to run on the road of sin and hopelessness where every mile marker is another doom-and-gloom sign. God wants your thinking to be wholesome - positive and looking for the return of Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. -Philippians 4:8 (ESV)

These little tidbits of wisdom are shared with you in the same spirit found in 2 Peter 3:1 - "...as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking."

Good Thinking

Choose to think good!

Choose to think good!

Think about things that are true like the love of God! Let your thoughts be about things that are lovely like the beauty of creation. Dwell not on the darkness, problems, or negative possibilities. Do not let the devil choose where your thoughts go. Choose to let your thoughts be positive and see the glory of God working in your life.

Good thoughts

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.  (Philippians 4:8)

Never Lose the "WHY" or the "FAITH"

Never lose the why! Every parent has experienced their six-year-old child driving them crazy with the question why. But by questioning the WHY many a person has made world-changing discoveries. Never stop asking why.

On the other hand, never lose the trust you  have in God when the "why" goes unanswered. As Job learned, God has the right to let the "why" go unanswered. When that happens, then the believer must "walk by faith and not by sight."

Add a little "Awe" to your devotional time! Take the 31 day challenge and let For His Glory: 31 Daily Meditations inspire your devotion to our "awesome" God. Take a peek inside this affordable (Only $1.49) eBook today.

Assuming VS Knowing

Assuming and knowing are two different things. Assuming someone knows what you are thinking leads to both mistakes and misunderstanding. Attempt to always make your intentions clear and never assume people know what you are thinking.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. -James 1:5
