They're Watching

Christian, you live under a watchful eye.

And he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, she looked with contempt on her mistress. Genesis 16:4 ESV

When Abram and Sarai decided that they needed to help God out and compromised their faith in the promise of Sarai having a child, Hagar lost all respect for them.

The world is watching the Christian. When we compromise our faith in Word of God we lose the respect of a confused world that longs for the truth. Believe God’s promises and wait for God to work it out.

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:14  KJV

Living Out of this World!

Have you been told that you're not living in the real world? If you haven't been told so, then the probability of you living by faith is low; and chances are, you don't have a firm belief in the promises of God.

Consider for a moment the account at Kadesh when Moses sent the twelve spies in Canaan (Numbers 13,14).  If you recall, ten of the twelve returned with a good and bad report.  They claimed the land was everything God had promised but that the inhabitants were mighty -- too mighty to be conquered by Israel even if the Almighty God was their redeemer.
But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.” (Numbers 14:6-9)
The ten were convinced that Joshua and Caleb were not living in the "real world." In reality, Joshua and Caleb were living in the "real Word"!  They were trusting the promises of a promise-keeping God.

The world today views the believer that lives their life according to the Word of God as being out of touch with reality; when in truth, they are in touch with reality.

So if you find people regarding you a little Out-of-this-world, cheer up.  You are among a noble group including Joshua and Caleb.

The Key Word Confidentially!

Confidentially
Confidentially! If someone has entrusted you with a confidence, then make every effort to keep it. They have entrusted you with a treasure and honored you with their trust. The only exceptions to keeping a confidence is if someone shares that they were going to hurt themselves or someone else or engage in some illegal activity.

People who keep a confidence are few; so take care who you confide in.

You Promised!

You Promised!
Be careful what you promise; but when you do make a promise – keep it. Your word is the means by which others measure your character. A person that is unfaithful in his word is also unreliable in other areas of her or his life. Keep your word.

…let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. –James 5:12

Stand By Your Word

Are you trustworthy, honest, a person that keeps his word.

Be a person who stands by his or her word. Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Take care not to promise something which you may not be able to do; but if you do, then keep your word. Such people are rare but they have no problem finding respect from others and they walk through life with a clear conscience.

But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. Matthew 5:37
